Founded in 1665, Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel (CAU) is a medium-sized university with eight faculties and currently 23,000 students. Being the only university in Schleswig-Holstein covering all major fields of science, it has to combine the educational needs of the region with the ambition for top-level research in Northern Germany. Research at the Department of Economics focuses on International Economics, Financial Economics, and Environmental and Resource Economics.
