Department of Law

Department of Law offers Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Finnish, and licentiate and doctoral degrees in Finnish as well as in English. The degrees are awarded in Administrative Sciences. The department specializes in several fields of law, namely the following: Administrative Law, Civil Law, Constitutional Law, Criminology, Criminal Law and Judicial Procedure, Environmental Law, European Law, Financial Law, Law and Economics and Legislative Studies.

The aim of the Department of Law is to answer to the working life oriented educational needs by offering tailored legal degrees in the selected fields of law. Multidisciplinarity, high level of teaching and interactive working life orientation are in the focus of the Department of Law.

The Department of Law provides the widest selection of environmental law courses in Finland, covering all areas of environmental law from international and European  environmental law to nature conservation and climate change law. Education and research of environmental law at the department has a multidisciplinary basis. The research group of environmental law at UEF is the largest in Finland, consists of two professors, four post doctoral researchers and 10 full-time PhD-students.
